announced the publication of Litigation Under the Federal Open Government Laws 2004, the fully updated edition of the manual that lawyers, journalists and researchers have relied on for more than 25 years to obtain information about the United States government under the Freedom of Information Act.

To celebrate the International Right to Know Day, the www.freedominfo.org Web network tomorrow will post a new collection of 25 news stories from around the world that resulted from citizens and journalists using their access to information laws. The countries represented in this collection include India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Slovakia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Mexico, Peru, Jamaica, South Africa, and others. The posting includes a press release (that separately will go to the entire freedominfo.org e-mail list of nearly 1,000 activists and analysts), summaries of each of the 25 news stories, and a full citation with an Internet link to each where that is available.
