Description: Tthe result of the project Survey of implementation of FOIA in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro . This is a joint regional project, sponsored by Freedom House (USAID) titled

"Campaigning for Freedom of Information and Free Access to Official Documents as the Best Tool for Combating Corruption - conducting of a survey on FOIA implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia"

with the participation of YUCOM (Serbia), the Center for Free Access of Information and the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights. Best response from the public bodies was obtained in Serbia and Montenegro ( 58 %), Bosnia and Herzegovina (56%) and Croatia 23%. Apart from the activities carried out as the leading partner in the project the CHC prepared and conducted the second survey on monitoring implementation of FOIA in Croatia. Due to the increased interest on behalf of citizens and NGOs the CHC filled 274 information requests to different central, regional and local bodies according to the methodology template. Sending requests took us a couople of days, the last one were sent on June 25, 2005.

On September 28th each project partner will organize a central event and present the survey results to the public.
